The origin of the dance is unknown but
the original music 'Onslow Waltz' is by R. H. Rossiter, a
Christchurch-born musician of around 100 years ago. He first published the
piece in New Zealand in 1890 and it was republished in England about
1911. The piece was dedicated to the Governor General of NZ (in
1890), Lord Onslow. |

Time 3/4. 50bpm. 32 bar sequence. Couples form a circle, man placing lady on his left. The couples face centre and hold hands, man will take the RH of the lady on his L, in his LH, and take the LH of the lady on his R, his RH. |
